Lincoln is proud to partner with First 5 Alameda County, Neighborhoods Ready for School Initiative, as a grantee site committed to implementing a “place-based” strategy focused on Early Childhood Development through the West Oakland Zone of Excellence.     

The West Oakland Zone of Excellence (WOZE) enhances the quality of life of families with children (ages birth to 5) residing in the West Oakland Community through neighborhood linkages to services; and holistic supports to build a legacy of success through early childhood academic readiness. This is achieved through two primary (2) strategies: 

• Mandela Gateway Family Resource Center- Family Navigation; Concrete Need Services; Workshops; and Family Incentives 

• Neighborhood Partnerships – Formal agreements with local institutions, businesses, and non-profits; Capacity Building Support; Dedicated Services to Birth to 5 families; Convening’s and Community Events
