Lincoln programs and sites are certified as Medi-Cal providers by County Behavioral Health.
Lincoln is a certified Nonpublic, Nonsectarian Agency (NPA) by the California Department of Education for the delivery of educational services in charter schools.
Since our founding in 1883, Lincoln has had a strong record of results, fiscal responsibility, and accountability in the community. Additionally, Lincoln has a solid asset balance and an increasingly diversified funding base comprised of government, foundation, and individual giving, as well as earned income. Fiscal oversight of Lincoln is the responsibility of the Board of Directors and the Chief Executive Officer. Board Committees work closely with the Chief Financial Officer and the Chief Executive Officer in providing oversight to the Board and the organization in the areas of audit, finance, and investment. Lincoln adheres to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) in all its policies and procedures and maintains appropriate internal controls. The organization’s financial systems ensure accurate financial records are kept and that its financial resources are used in furtherance of its charitable purpose.
A three-month operating reserve is kept to cover expenses in an emergency. Annual development strategies include spring and fall giving campaigns, one major fundraising event, direct mail appeals, and the ongoing submission of grant proposals to foundations, corporations, and government funders. Annual income comes from these sources as well as program fees, investment spending, and earned interest.
