Clinicians and human service providers will receive an overview of current statistics on child abuse, including information regarding types, ages, victims, and perpetrators of abuse. The impact of various forms of abuse upon child behaviors and presentations for care will be presented and discussed. Types of reportable child abuse will be reviewed, as will obligations of care providers of children in out of home care as mandated reporters.

This training will also review all aspects of accurate incident reporting including how, why and when to write an Incident Rreport, who receives incident reports and information gathered from incident reports. 

Trainer: Lee Collyer, MSW  

Lee currently serves as the Program Manager for Intensive Classroom Services at Lincoln and is an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Social Work at CSU-East Bay. Lee has 12-plus years’ experience working with youth and families in various environments, including public schools, residential programs, correctional facilities and therapeutic boarding schools. He has presented and trained professionals nationally on topics such as juvenile incarceration, poverty, classroom management, crisis management, seclusion and restraint elimination/reduction, and positive behavior support. Lee holds a master’s degree in social work from Wheelock College in Boston and holds a B.A. from Marlboro College in Vermont.
