Supporting Attachment Needs Through Trauma Informed Practice

This training will offer a combination of didactic and case conference modalities to examine the intersection of Attachment Theory and Trauma Informed Care. Special emphasis will be given to understanding emotional needs and expressions from a Family Systems and Internal Family Systems understanding. Participants are encouraged to bring in case examples. Format will be power point with generous room for cases and questions.
Learning Objectives:  

 1. Participants will increase ability to apply understandings of attachment theory to trauma informed care model
 2. Participants will be introduced to the Internal Family Systems thinking as a way to understand expressions of high risk or reactive behaviors
3. Participants will utilize Family Systems thinking to increase intervention options as it relates to attachment needs in clients
4. Participants will utilize case examples from the trainer and their own work to deepen their practice

Trainer

Jessie Rose Cohen, LCSW, is a Psychotherapist and Gender Specialist in Private Practice in Oakland, California and Director of Training and Social Work for the UCSF Child & Adolescent Gender Clinic. She recently served as the Interim Program Director and Clinical Supervisor on the Management Team at A Better Way, serving children and families primarily in foster and adoption care.

In addition, she served as a Contract Supervisor for Rainbow Community Center training interns in LGBTQI competencies. Most recently she was a contributing writer to the APA Publication Affirmative Counseling and Psychological Practice with Transgender and Gender Nonconforming Clients (2016). Her passion and commitment to the field is to work from a Family Systems, trauma informed, gender affirming model and support furthering the field through training and supervision.

Continuing Education

This course meets the qualifications for four (4) CEUs for LPCCs, LCSWs and MFTs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences and is provided by Lincoln under CAMFT's Continuing Education Provider Program (CEPA), #133478.

Training Registration Policy

Registration closes a week prior to the training and we cannot accept late registrations. Thank you for your understanding.

Training Cancellation Policy

If we cancel training or special event as a result of low registration, for example, registrants will be notified by email or phone one week prior to the training date and receive a full refund. Where courses are cancelled for reasons beyond our control, then registrants will be given shorter notice and will receive a full refund. If a registrant cannot attend training and contacts the Training Institute within 72 hours of the training or special event to cancel, a full refund will be issued. If a registrant contacts the Training Institute outside of the 72 hour period, a refund will not be issued.

Grievances
