Stress Management and Self Care for Single Caregivers

  • Lincoln 51 Marina Boulevard Pittsburg, CA, 94565 United States (map)

DESCRIPTION:

Being a single caregiver can be challenging. Most single caregivers are faced with managing a busy schedule including job related responsibilities, household duties and raising children, all on their own. The reality is that raising children on your own can be stressful, demanding and hectic. Not properly managing stress can cause caregivers to become less effective in their role of raising children and in life. Not properly managing stress can also impact caregivers’ health and their children’s developing brains. In this workshop caregivers will explore strategies to effectively manage stress, the importance of self-care and its effect on their children.

Learning Objectives:

Based on the content of this workshop, caregivers will be able to:

1. Explain the impact that stress can have on their parenting and on their children.
2. Identify a list of self-care techniques to reduce single caregiving stress.
