This training is designed to provide you with an understanding and awareness of the complexities involved with child sexual exploitation (CSE) issues. The course aims to give you the knowledge to be able to recognize potential cases of CSE and understand what constitutes best practice in responding to your concerns.
Child sexual exploitation is an issue that affects thousands of young people every year, so it is essential that those people with safeguarding responsibilities have an awareness of how young people may be targeted, implicated and affected by CSE.
About the Trainer:
Vanessa Russell has instructed children in the area of dance, teaching hundreds from age 3 to 25, in lyrical, flags, hip hop, and mime since 2000. In 2010 one of her 15 year old dance students was sold into human trafficking. Although she was eventually located and is now being restored to health, Vanessa has encountered many others who, like her student, were US born women, men and children trapped in modern day slavery.
Her response was to launch Love Never Fails, a non-profit dedicated to the restoration, education and protection of people at risk of or currently being sexually exploited. Since launching the program Love Never Fails she has educated thousands of children and community members and opened two homes which provide safe housing for 26 women and up to 40 children a year.
